I try to be a good girl, I really really do
I try to be a good girl, a happy Witchypoo
I follow my own rules, the ‘Rule of 3’ is one
Givin’ love an peace, remember ‘an harm none’

I practice with my Tarot, usin’ them to heal
takin’ time to help a friend, give’m a straight deal
I’m always, always learnin’, about my Mother Earth
When you’re down with Gaia, that’s when you’re on my turf

I praise the Moon above me, shining in the night
I praise the Sun above me, burnin’ high and bright
I worship gods of all kinds, don’t tell me that ain’t good
There’s room for all beliefs, in my neighborhood

An’ don’t you dis my pentacle, my shiny little star
when I be give’n you space, repsectin’ who you are
Just walk a ways along my path, we’ll chill a little while
You can hang with Witchypoo, we’ll do it pagan style

When the stones are hummin’, an’ all nature’s in a hush
we can turn our spirits free, and feel the cosmic rush
An’ if we have a laugh, when we’re trippin’ through the night
then we’ll know we’ve done it good, we’ve done it up just right

bitchcraft

Written By: witchypo - Jan• 25•11

we are gods, each one, inside
and from this truth, we cannot hide
so there are times when we must face
the basic facts before us

to create, we must destroy
we must know tears to know real joy
and though it hurts us deep inside
we sometimes harm to heal

now you resent this kind of action
think we get some satisfaction
from doing things you think are wrong
but it simply isn’t true

we speak the truth, as we know it
when we feel love, we try to show it
and when it seems like cruelty
we hope you’ll understand

to love another, we must first
know our best and know our worst
love ourselves, to love another
call us what you will

so go ahead and throw your stones
use your sticks to break our bones
we’ll still love you anyway
and practice Bitchcraft proudly!

never say never

Written By: witchypo - Jan• 24•11

Never say ‘never’, for don’t you see
that what you think won’t, may just come to be
words once they’re said, are hard to take back
and a future that’s bright, could soon be turned black
fear and hatred lead straight to regret
an wide open mind is the far better bet
each person you meet might well teach you a lesson
and any job tried may become a profession
take a wrong turn and you could find a treasure
what seems like work now could become leisure
a person you hate could soon be a friend
every new ‘start’ is born of an ‘end’
dare to love and face life with a smile
take a chance and do it with style
you decide what to do with ‘forever’
let the first step be to ‘never say never’

* Okay, so the rhyme and meter are poor, but it’s the thought that counts, no?

midnight meeting

Written By: witchypo - Jan• 24•11

Church bells clamor in the night
Mark the moment that is right
To strike out ‘neath the pale moon light
All seek the oak grove past the rolling hills

‘Come to me by moonlight
Stand with me at midnight’
So the Lady speaks her will

Gather there and circle ’round
Stand apon this holy ground
The crackling fire the only sound
All are ready, all is still

Come to me by moon light
Dance with me this wild night
And drink with me your fill

Past the fading of the sky
On willful wings a few shall fly
If you but have the faith to try
Only dawn shall bring you back again

Come to me by moonlight
Join me in a daring flight
Forgetting you are mortal still

Then back along the dew kissed road
Weary limbed and caked with woad
Bright with blessings She’s bestowed
Dreaming of next when you shall meet

Come to me by moonlight
Nothing here shall give you fright
Safe you are, by My loving Will

internet love song

Written By: witchypo - Jan• 24•11

another Friday night without a date
consider bars, and drunks, and hesitate
so I surf around the net instead
nothing here, I think I’ll go to bed

then you message me, we chat and click
have you ever…? I remember… that’s sick!
two normal people who don’t play those games
we chat again and still it seems the same
but it’s no internet love song…

can two people meet across the miles
make love of words and little cheesy smiles
or is just another urban myth
a fantasy two fools are playing with
are there no internet love songs?

you want kids and, yah, the married life
I’ve been there, don’t wanna be a wife
we got jobs and friends in our own towns
still we seem to meet on common ground

then you talk about two souls entwined
gotta wonder just what’s on you mind
I remind you we ain’t never met
you just grin and type back ‘no, not yet’
while sending me an internet love song…

can two people meet across the miles
make love of words and little cheesy smiles
or is just another urban myth
a fantasy two fools are playing with
are there no internet love songs?

don’t you hear what I don’t say to you
the broken trust and pain that I’ve been through
do you think that I don’t hear your prayer
that I don’t know how much you want to care

stranger, why you doin’ this to me
make me think of possibilities
while my head is sayin’ it’s just wrong
and my heart is hoping all along
that it’s an internet love song…

sometimes love can bridge the endless miles
soul mates find each other in a smile
modern magic can exist it seems
and lonely people can live out their dreams
I believe in internet love songs!

engaged

Written By: witchypo - Jan• 24•11

2008 – I got engaged
looked out on the world stage
at terrorism, melamine
Obama coming on the scene
melting ice and hurricanes
China, the Olympic games
Brangelina, baby bumps
claims of ‘gouging’ at the pumps
Bush linked to Guantanamo
I’m not sure I want to know
Oil wells all running dry
Auto giant’s claims they’ll die
Euros facing eco-facts
With air-cars, wind, and carbon tax
Nargis hit, Mumbai’s attacked
Afghanistan is bathed in flack
Colliders ‘smashing’ underground
Stocks and housing crashing down
I argued ‘bout the rights we lost
The freedom all these ‘chips’ will cost
while ‘911’ and ‘fear’ excuse
the tactics banks and leaders use
Zapatero questions ‘thin’
Fidel and Bill Gates pack it in
The FCC have got their way
soon watch or surf you’ll have to pay
The Rat year rushes ‘cross the stage
And I’m elated, scared, enraged
But – ‘tuned in’ – I won’t turn away
From this wondrous, horrid play

best friends

Written By: witchypo - Jan• 24•11

How do we know that we’re best friend

What are the signs that it’s true

Could it be all the time that we’ve both spent

Learning and challenging too

The lessons we’ve learned from our friendship

How we help one another get through

that when all other friendships have faded

We’ll always be there – true blue

Guess there’s nothing that we can just point to

To say ‘that’s the one thing we do’

Unless it’s to say it’s this love dear

That you share with the – me with you

what’s this I see?

Written By: witchypo - Jan• 24•11

What’s this I see, is it a tree
Or a man, stares back at me?
Beneath the leaves, I see a face
But it’s no thing of human race
Leaves for hair, a trunk for thighs
Tendrils round it’s mocking eyes
Then in a blink, it’s gone again
And I am left to doubt I’m sane!

Robyn Hoode

Written By: witchypo - Jan• 24•11

‘Twas a May Day, bright and gay
when Winter’s cold had gone away
and all the town came out to play
on that very special day

Wares were sold and stories told
’bout the gods revered of old
while maids were chased by lovers bold
and all were dancing, young and old

Then from the feast, a lass did roam
to the woods beyond her home
and feeling weary to the bone
she lay down, there, all alone

Or so she thought herself to be
not seeing up inside the tree
the lad who waited, silently
for this maid he’d hoped to see

Barely had she fall’n asleep
than down the tree, the lad did creep
and laying by her grassy bed
he placed a sweet kiss ‘pon head

Wrapped inside a wicked dream
the sweet lass lacked the wit to scream
but she’d have done so had she seen
the lad who loved her while she dreamed

For he had horns upon his crown
and ‘pon his chin real leaves had grown
by ‘Robyn’ was this wild lad known
a spirit, he, of some renown

No clue had she, that Robyn Goode
had helped her into womanhood
’till great with kid, she understood
and named the child Robyn Hoode

message in a bottle

Written By: witchypo - Jan• 24•11

I put a meesage in a bottle and sent it out to sea

hoping you would find it and come to rescue me

each day I search for answers, signs that soon you’ll come

but it seems I wait in vain, ’cause so far there’s been none

perhaps you haven’t found it, perhaps it’s lost somewhere

or maybe you have got it and simply do not care
